The idea behind “Straw for Baby Jesus” is for kids to learn in action about Jesus’ words in the parable: “as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me”. Their sacrifices and good works during Advent, done for parents or friends or siblings, can help to create a soft, comfy bed for the baby Jesus when he is born on Christmas. Sets are crafted by Catholic All Year in our California and Virginia woodshops, made from ¼ inch plywood.
Set includes:
- Manger pieces (4 end pieces, 7 slats, 14 pegs)
- 50g bundle of raffia
- 6” resin baby Jesus
- 8” x 12” cloth storage bag
Details:
- assembled manger is 6” x 6” x 10.5”
- manger is cut from ¼” hardwood plywood
- not intended for use as a toy
- raffia is grown and processed in Madagascar
- baby Jesus figure is made in China

Our wooden products are cut in-house at the CAY Marketplace! Due to their handmade nature, please expect a few extra days of handling time before your order with wooden items is shipped. Especially during holiday seasons, please estimate 7-10 business days in production time before your order is on its way. Additionally, please expect some variation in cut/grain/color since this item is made from a natural product! If your item appears dusty when it arrives, it could be the wooden residue from the laser machine that has settled. A simple wipe with a damp paper towel will clean it right up!
