This warm, hearty, comforting pub dish was a favorite of my family on our pilgrimage to Ireland. I make the filling in a cast iron pan, spread the mashed potatoes on top, and broil and serve it in the pan. It’s traditionally made with ground lamb. Made with ground beef it’s called “Cottage Pie.”
