Saint Mark the Evangelist is the patron saint of Venice, Italy, and his symbol is a winged lion. Ergo, Lion’s Head Pizza! This simple homemade pizza recipe is infinitely customizable and is our go-to for family pizza night. One batch of dough will make one large or four individual-sized pizzas. For a crowd, we triple the recipe (this will use two yeast 0.75 ounce
yeast packets) to make two extra large 11x17-inch baking sheet pizzas. For the feast of Saint Mark, we arrange our favorite toppings to create a lion’s head. Use veggie toppings if you’re going meat-free for the major rogation day, also observed on April 25.
